Derwick Associates Corp.: Corporate Social Responsibility
Social welfare and environmental protection are key elements of our company. Through sponsorship of programs and creating ecological and social development, we seek to create awareness and generate a positive impact on our environment.
In order to run these programs efficiently, Derwick Associates has created the Foundation Hermógenes Lopez, a non-profit, nationwide institution, which aims to promote, encourage and develop all sorts of charitable, sports, educational, artistic and cultural activities that contribute to sustained improvement of individuals, families and communities.
One feature that identifies the projects of our foundation is the comprehensive view of them. Our projects go beyond the construction of infrastructure for education, sports and environmental conservation, being coupled with monitoring programs and incorporation of communities, thus ensuring its permanence over time.
Training our children:
Carmen Sallés School, Ciudad Bolivar
An example of such integrated projects is the creation of Carmen Sallés School, located in the town of Nazareth, in Ciudad Bolivar, an institution established 30 years ago by la Congregación de las Religiosas Concepcionistas de la Enseñanza, which involves the construction of a building optimal to receive a significant part of the school population of Nazareth, which reaches about 1,600 children between 4 and 12 years old.
El Saman de Caujarito Community, Charallave
The community of El Saman de Caujarito is a neighbor of La Raisa power plant, where Derwick Associates has executed a major power generation project, that has benefited through the provision of school supplies kits for 200 children, which contain the basic tools for school children begin their activities according to each degree program. This initiative is framed within the set of activities to assist the communities surrounding our developments, and are held in conjunction with the various community councils.
Supporting the sport:
Soccer field Plan de la I, Caucaguita
Another project that is executed with this comprehensive view, is the "Plan I"soccer field in the community of Caucaguita, Edo. Miranda. The objective of this project is to provide a sports area to a community that suffers from these facilities, providing the opportunity for leisure and recreation for children and young people from 15,000 families, both day and night, as the court will lighting. Similarly, the project includes the creation of a school, with the participation of the community and the parish, besides the design of the road that leads to the soccer field.
A major incentive for children and young people who play football on this field is that may have to interact with players of Club Deportivo Petare as part of the club's youth.
Educating for the job:
Derwick Associates Turbine Technology Center, Guacara
Derwick Associates as a contribution to the country's technological development and contribution to the technical training of Venezuelan, forwards an ambitious project: Derwick Associates Turbine Technology Center, located in Guacara, Edo. Carabobo.
This project includes the construction of a technological workshop to repair its own industrial turbines, aero-derivative and steam, and cover, among other services, component repair, welding, chemical and thermal treatment, machining workshop, coatings high temperature and surface treatment, among others.
For the safeguarding of indigenous people:
Loyola Project Support Tauca, Puerto Ordaz
Loyola-Tauca Project is developed by Loyola Gumilla College in Puerto Ordaz, and aims to protect the culture and traditions of indigenous people. Derwick Associates contribute to this noble effort through the provision of transport facilities for students of this school during transport to the Indigenous University of Venezuela, in order to raise the awareness of students in the protection and defense of indigenous cultures.
